17 weeks, busy busy busy!

My post is very late, this week has been crazy! and i am sure i will post late next week also.

So what we did this week... well kaya and i spent the mornings together accomplishing small chores and exercising in gorgeous weather. i worked 3-11pm monday-friday so i had every morning to myself. It was nice to have the time to get some small stuff done and work with the monster bear on her doggy fence. Brad installed an electric dog fence last weekend and we have been working on training the monster every day. She has had 2 minor escapes (both from the same place) but overall has learned her yard and actually did incredibly well! Heres some pics from my week of bonding with the dog.

 Dog Park!

Okay now on to big projects of the week!
I am almost finished with our downstairs end tables!
We mowed both the front and back lawns!

And the biggest of them all, we planted a side yard, built garden boxes and started the garden. All of this was done with much help from my dad, jojo, devon, and sam. And of course Duke (sams dog) he helped by keeping kaya very entertained in the house, which i am thankful for because we had a tired puppy to relax with tired humans in the evening! Pics from the projects!

And as you can see we were very busy. So i didnt do my weekly photo, the best i have for ya'll this week is a photo that i snapped as i walked by a mirror in fred meyers because i thought to myself maybe im starting to show more than i think i am. I promise a weekly photo next week!

How many weeks: 17 weeks and 6 days
This week our baby is the size of a......Grapefruit! About 6 inches, the little monster grew a whole inch last week!
This week our baby weighs..... about 5 ounces. He/She gained a whole ounce and a half last week!!!
This week our baby can...is forming sweat glands, a thicker umbilcal cord, and more calcified bones!
Boy or girl? We made the appointment for the ultrasound this week. Baby Gochnauer's sex will be seen on May 13th... now just to hope that legs aren't crossed.
Total weight gain/ loss: +6-7 ish. im going to stop sharing my weight gain at some point.
Showing: yeah, just a  little bit, although it really just looks like im gaining wait Ill be excited to look actually pregnant in a few months.
Maternity Clothes: Nope, not yet getting closer though! I think i can only button one pair of jeans comfortably. but i can still wear them all with a ruberband.
Best moment this week: Brad said the best moment for him is that i can feel baby move. I have had a lot of really good moments this week. It was nice to feel less tired and be accomplishing some of our goals for the summer. It was also nice to share this with family and talk about the baby coming.
Have you told family/ friends: not everyone, i am sure the word is spreading faster than i know though.
Food cravings: I don't really have cravings anymore, i was very  hungry this weekend though!
Miss anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!oh and beer, i love raspberry beer and we had some this weekend at the house. I will be excited to have a nice berry flavored micro brew in October!
Anything making you sick: Not much anymore.
Pregnancy symptoms: same old stuff as last week, nothing really new.
Movement: definitely feeling Flutters :-)
Gender prediction: We both really just want a healthy baby but if i had to predict i would say Boy!!! Brad thinks girl, just because that is what his whole family is rooting for and he really secretly wants a boy so he thinks it will be a girl since he wants a boy :-)
We call our baby: little monster, baby, NUGGET. A good friend at work started asking me how the nugget was doing and it stuck. We constantly refer to baby as nugget now. Its pretty cute..
Looking forward to: Another weekend off with my hubby next weekend!
Soon to be daddy is....  embracing my ambitious projects, i have to be thankful for his cooperation with all of my crazy ideas!

Until Next Week,
Shyla
