21 Weeks
So this week has been lots of fun. I was productive and cleaned to whole house on my two days off including shampooing the carpets, brad installed a new closet shelf, and clearing out the nursery. And then on thursday our crib came in the mail! so we put that together thursday night and now it seems like a real room.
Kaya is curious to say the least, as you can see by her interest in being a part of this weeks pictures.
So here are some picks of the crib coming together.
It was a great week, we made progress in the house. Started the nursery. And spent all day friday exploring pike place market and some cute little resturaunts in the ballard district.
How many weeks: 21 weeks and 4 days
This week baby is the size of a..... Spaghetti squash! 10 and 1/4 inches long!
This week our baby weighs..... Approximately 3/4 pound. i would estimate that she is 13-14 oz based on her estimated weight from the 20 week ultrasound.
This week baby girl......has eyelashes and and eyebrows that are fully developed. is capable of having sleep/wake cycles. So it looks like she will start to set her own schedule soon! Right now she sleeps 12 -14 hours a day.
Boy or girl? GIRL!!!
Total weight gain/ loss: +10 ish.
Showing: yep
Maternity Clothes: I can still wear a few pairs of my normal pants if i use a hair band looped through my button hole.. lol. However, i do love my maternity capris. They are super comfy and look nice, plus the show my tiny belling off a little more. So i wear those pretty much all the time. I need to invest in some belly bands/ more maternity pants.
Best moment this week:Working on the nursery/ putting the crib together. It felt nice to have a start to her room.
Have you told family/ friends: i think most people know at this point!
Food cravings: Pickles, all sweet food, and artificial crab meat, oh and coconut flavored anything (yogurt, ice cream). I love coconut things!
Miss anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!
Anything making you sick: Not much anymore.
Pregnancy symptoms: acne... which has actually gotten better lately.
Movement: yep.
Gender prediction: It's a Girl!
We call our baby: Adrienne Elizabeth Gochnauer is her name!
Looking forward to: decorating a girl nursery! Having a check up again at 23 weeks! and spending time with the family next week.
Soon to be daddy is.... loving his baby girls! baby girl number one ( kaya, and only number one because she came first) is very curious about Adrienne's room and all the new commotion going on and also super attached to her mommy and daddy. Adrienne hasnt quite gotten to the point where she reacts to her daddy's voice or kayas barks but im sure the time will come when she does those. Anyways, daddy is excited about having a little girl. Today, he explained to me his plans for her to participate in sports and what age he will participate in each sport.
Until Next Week,

20 Weeks, Halfway Point!!
The little Nugget is a GIRL!!!
How exciting!! i am more than happy to be having a little girl, ive always wanted to have both and i think a girl is perfect. Plus headbands are so stinking cute these days. Im super excited for dresses, headbands, and all other adorable girly things. i will however have to learn how to french braid at some point in the next few years.
So this week has been busy. I finished planting my garden, finished painting a desk. did some other exterior decorating, made the baby registry, and started decorating the nursery.
So the baby registry.... what an overwhelming thing to do. there are too many decisions and comparison and cute things. Here's a little preview of some of the cute stuff we selected.
The bedding collection.

The Car seat

And brad stressed out in babies r us while we were trying to start the registry.
I discovered a store called hobby lobby this week. its like and arts and crafts/home decor super small! they had so much cute stuff! So i did a couple of crafts, and after this i will go buy some decorations i have already selected from there! Heres a preview of this weeks work.
This next one is a chalkboard.
And some yarn for a blanket!
As you can see we are doing orange, teal, and yellow as the base for our theme. It matches the bedding and isn't your traditional pink/purple but is still girly! I will definitely add some pink things. and i am sure the will be showered in pink clothing i just didnt want an all pink theme.
Okay, on to the weekly stats.....
How many weeks: 20 weeks and 3 days
This week our baby is the size of a......Length of a large banana/cucumber, getting bigger is really all that matters! about 9 inches.
This week our baby weighs..... well my app estimates that she weighs about 10 1/2 ounces. but the doctor said she weighed 12 oz at the ultrasound on monday! She charted in the 49th percentile which is perfectly on track. She should gain another 1.5 ounces this week.
This week baby girl......is starting to accumulate meconium (poo). Which is a totally random fact.
Boy or girl? GIRL!!!
Total weight gain/ loss: +10 ish.

Best moment this week: Definitely the ultrasound. We got to see that she is doing well, it was amazing too look at the detail they can see. We saw all 4 chambers of her heart, her stomach, both her kidneys, her brain, eyes, fingers, toes.. and everything else in fine detail. And they said everything appeared to be normal! yay! Plus it was super cute to watch, she had the hiccups and was obsessed with putter her hands to her face.
Have you told family/ friends: i think most people know at this point!
Food cravings: Today i randomly craved fried chicken, and then the seafood sensation sandwich from subway (which they no longer make)..both at the same time! it was crazy. i think i just crave things when im starving.
Miss anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!
Anything making you sick: Not much anymore.
Pregnancy symptoms: acne... i feel like im 15 again.
Movement: yep.
Gender prediction: It's a Girl!
We call our baby: Adrienne Elizabeth Gochnauer is her name!
Looking forward to: decorating a girl nursery!
Soon to be daddy is.... Coping with being outnumbered 3 to 1 with his soon to be daughter in this house. The poor guy will have to get a male dog or something.
Until Next Week,
Shyla

18 Weeks, spring is here!
So this week was also busy, i got a lot done at work. Worked on some stuff around the house and was able to workout twice. it feels nice to get organized and do some outside work. our house is really starting to come together!
We are getting really anxious to find out the sex. Garage sale season was in full effect this weekend and it was very limiting to not know the sex when browsing at sales. We did find some books, some maternity clothes, and a hardly used crib mattress which we got for just 10 bucks! So that was exciting. We also sold a few things at a friends garage sale today which was really nice, ill have to sort through more stuff to hopefully sell this summer. Last weeks update was long, with lots of pictures so this week will be a short one. Things are still going well, i still feel good. and everything seems to be great with the nugget. Next check-up is on the 13th of may, just 8 days away!
