34 week pictures!
35 week pictures!
And This one was from 33 weeks 5 days, taken at Chris and Kathryn's wedding
Brief update of the last two weeks:
We have started to finalize our preperations for baby. Gathering things for hospital bag, diaper bag, finishing up the nursery etc.. Pretty much its just been one little thing at a time. I also started shopping on Etsy (which is a bad idea for our bank account)... but i have gotten some amazing things that we can use for newborn pictures/ special memories.
Heres a little preview of things we have been shopping for:
Orange and black is of course to correspond with some OSU themed photos fro brad, and doubles as a cute little halloween outfit.
this is just because we have to have a super girly photo.
And a cute little hospital hat.
Heres a major edition to the nursery ( we now have almost every decoration completed/hung). The last things on my list are a laundry hamper and some blackout curtains, i have plenty of time for a laundry hamper but need to get those curtains soon if we hope to start trying to have her nap in her crib in the first month or so.
So pretty much we are just organizing the last little details and awaiting her arrival! In the next couple of weeks we need to make some final decisions on daycare ( that will be the biggest focus). And i need to work ahead on some schoolwork. oh yeah, I started my Master's Degree!!! Bad timing, my first class started today. But i am hoping to work a couple weeks ahead so it doesnt seem overwhelming when she comes. Wish me luck!
Now for the weekly Stats!
How many weeks: 35 weeks and 3 days today.
This week baby is...... about 18.5 inches.
This
week our baby weighs..... 6.5 Lbs. Her weight was estimated at 5lb 15 oz at the 34 week appointment. roughly 76th percentile. She is right on track to be an 8ish LB baby. That is unless we actually go to 40 or 41 weeks then she could be bigger.... we are trying to avoid that.
This
week baby girl.....Is still growing fast! Her lungs are now almost fully functional. Week 36 is often the marker for fully functional lungs. Although, she really should stay put for at least 2 more weeks in my opinion. the vernix covering her skin is starting to come off. and she is getting more plump each week. Miss Adrienne just needs to focus on gaining weight and fine tuning her lung development in the next few weeks.
Boy or girl? GIRL!!!
Total weight gain/ loss: +30 ish. Hopefully we stay about right here.
Showing:
yep
Maternity
Clothes: Definitely in maternity clothes now.
Best
moment this week: Hiccups are still super prevalent, usually her hiccups and kicking are correlated. Im sure she doesnt love the hiccups and starts to kick in response to them. I dont think i have a "best moment" for the last two weeks. Overall we are just getting excited. Brad wants to meet his daughter like yesterday! lol. And I am starting to feel ready to have a baby girl. One exciting thing over the past week or so= contractions. I have been having uterine tightening that hasnt been the least bit uncomfortable for weeks but yesterday i had my first braxton hicks type contractions that i could actually feel a little bit. Not painful but definitely slightly uncomfortable, great sign that my body is getting ready for labor!
Food
cravings: nothing, my appetite is slowly diminishing.
Miss
anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate
substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!
Anything making you sick: Heartburn all the time.
Pregnancy
symptoms: third trimester tiredness, insomnia, and heartburn continue. The tired has been pretty crazy the last few days. Ive been working night shift for a couple weeks ( tonight is my last night shift) and i think it finally caught up with me. I have slept/layed in bed all night and half the day the last couple of days. Im sure this is attributed to night shift/lack of restful sleep due to a little bit of insomnia and some nighttime heartburn.
Movement:
yep. She moves around like crazy all the time. Her head was still down and sitting pretty low at 34 weeks. She just needs to stay put and work on moving that head down to put some pressure on my cervix.
Gender
prediction: It's a Girl!
We call our
baby: Adrienne Elizabeth Gochnauer is her name!
Looking forward
to: Hopefully seeing some family/friends this weekend in CleElum, WA.
Until Next Week,
Shyla

Weeks 30-33!! Just four more weeks to a term baby!
Week 30 was baby shower week!!!
Brad and I spent 4 days together in Oregon visiting family and friends. We had two baby showers, one was a BabyQ with friends in Portland, It was incredibly fun! A big thanks to Tom and Rikki for hosting the Baby Q! We had great food, lots of beer for those who could partake, and some fun games that even the guys played! It was great to watch the guys diaper stuffed animals and fish for safety pins in a bowl of rice.
Our second baby shower was with family and friends in Scappoose. We were spoiled with many guests, great food, beautiful decorations, and many gifts! Adrienne recieved more than half of her wardrobe at this shower along with many other adorable gifts.
Thank you to everyone who came! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!
This was our pile of gift bags taking up my moms living room.
Weeks 31 and 32 were busy. I spent a lot of time sorting through and organizing the baby clothing and getting some organization to the nursery!
The closet was all put together and organized the day we came back from oregon after our baby and then we had a bit of a closet disaster ( the shelf and curtain rod fell out of the wall due to improper installation by the contractor who flipped our house).... So we built a new way more awesome closet.
Before the fall... We just had one shelf and one rod for hanging.
After the rebuild! we now have two shelves with two places to hang clothes and lots of room for more storage boxes.
And baby items have started to take over our entire house!
The guest bed had to store the clothes during the closet rebuild.
Week 33... This week has been consumed with fine tuning. Organizing the nursery a little more each day and starting to work on hanging pictures/ decorating the wall.
The nursery is really coming together! we are getting very organized and things are starting to find their place! (Thanks to a lot of work and frequent trips to hobby lobby to buy 50% off storage boxes!).
We finally hung the chalkboard that i put together months ago, and next to that is the dreamcatcher that my grandpa lonny made for me when i was a child. I have saved a lot of little things to pass on from my childhood. This one is really special.
The changing table is finally organized! The white crate is something that my mom made for us for Christmas last year, it used to be lined with a different color of fabric and was kind of just sitting around with no purpose. So, i redecorated with a little fabric and re purposed it to be a diaper storage crate. I think it will come in very handy. This crate is full of all the diapers that people wrote cute messages on at the baby shower so we look forward to seeing everyone's comments once she is here!
The bookshelf is starting to become declutered! I think these frames will eventually go on the wall somewhere but i havent quite decided where.
I made this bin to store headbands, it can fit them around and inside. Its a recycled Oatmeal container covered with extra scrap fabric that i had left over from lining our diaper crate that is on the changing table.
And... I made this for hairbows. We only have 6 clip on ones so far but am sure she will have plenty more someday and this will give us a great place to store them. Plus it serves as a decoration also!
Brad and i are getting very excited to meet Adrienne! It feels so crazy that in 4 weeks we will have a full term baby that could be born anytime. I feel like 4 weeks will go buy very fast, the next 4 weeks are incredibly busy. I will work nights for 2 weeks, visit lots of friends and family. With work and all of our planned events time is going to fly by and we will have a little girl before we know it!
Now for the weekly Stats!
How many weeks: 33 weeks and 2 days today.
This week baby is...... about 17.5 inches.
This week our baby weighs..... 5 Lbs. Her weight was estimated at 4 lbs 10 oz ( which the doctor said he thought was generous) at her 32 week appointment so we estimate she is probably somewhere around 5 lbs this week.
This week baby girl.....Is growing fast! and let me tell you mommy can definitely feel her little body expanding.
Boy or girl? GIRL!!!
Total weight gain/ loss: +25 ish.
Showing: yep
Maternity Clothes: Definitely in maternity clothes now.
Best moment this week: Hiccups! the last few weeks i have started to really be able to feel her hiccups and i think its pretty cool!
Food cravings: just sweets, i think that pregnancy is really just an excuse to crave things that you already want anyways and normally wouldnt justify eating... and i am sure that that is the real reason why i want sweets all the time.
Miss anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!
Anything making you sick: Nope
Pregnancy symptoms: third trimester tiredness, insomnia, and heartburn are all settling themselves in for the next 7 weeks.
Movement: yep. She moves around like crazy all the time. And best news... She flipped her body around and was head down at 32 weeks! Now to just stay that way.
Gender prediction: It's a Girl!
We call our baby: Adrienne Elizabeth Gochnauer is her name!
Looking forward to: Celebrating the marriage of my dear friends kathryn and chris this weekend!
Until Next Week,
Shyla
