Weeks 24 and 25!

 24 Week Photos!

And 25 Week Photos, Kaya always has to be in the photos! she loves it when we take our weekly picture ;-)

So in the past two weeks a lot has happened, we hit the 24 week mark which is an exciting time 1 because medically that means we are past some of this highest risk parts of the pregnancy, not that i have had any concerns. Its still excited to hit those milestones.
Brad and i have been busy as always, we have been working around the house, working a lot and trying to get some planning stuff figured out for when the baby comes (Daycare, blah). finding day care is an always frustrating adventure.
This past week we finally put a usable closet in our office, which has been really handing in organizing the junk that had compiled in that room. we got an office chair a few weeks ago so we are finally getting rid of the old recliner that we were using as a makeshift office chair. And i bought the lumber to build us some DVD shelves, it will be wonderful to get rid of our cheap looking black dvd shelves and have some nice home built wooden ones. and after these projects are complete we only have a few more big projects before we are done with everything for the house. two more furniture items and then we will be finished. Its a nice feeling to know that it is possible to accomplish everything i have wanted to accomplish before Adrienne is born. After these projects we will move on to finishing the nursery, we already have a crib and changing table and a few decorations to it feels like we have made a lot of progress there also.

Okay on the the weekly update and photos!
 Nursery changing table.

I found this changing table on craigslit for $40, which is a great deal considering that everything i have seen in stores is upwards of $100. And it matches the crib really wel!

And this is the beginning of a blanket that i am making for her! It matches the colors of the bedding that i would like to buy.

How many weeks: 25 weeks and 2 days today.
This week baby is...... about 13 and 1/2 inches.
This week our baby weighs..... 1 Lb 13 Oz. We had a mini ultrasound this week because we changed doctors and she was 1lb 13 oz and charted in the 54th percentile which is a 5% increase from the 20 week ultrasound. She is definitely growing right on track! She has gained 1 lb since the 20 week appointment.
This week  baby girl.....Her nostrils are starting to open and her swallowing reflex is developing. Last week, in week 24 she started to hear completely, her lungs continued to develop and she started producing surfactant in her lungs (which she will need to take her first breaths!).
 Boy or girl? GIRL!!!
Total weight gain/ loss: +15 ish.
Showing: yep
Maternity Clothes: Definitely in maternity clothes now.
Best moment this week: in the past two weeks Adrienne has been going crazy! Brad has gotten to feel and see her do some of her biggest movements yet and it was really exciting.
Have you told family/ friends: i think most people know at this point!
Food cravings: just sweets, i think that pregnancy is really just an excuse to crave things that you already want anyways and normally wouldnt justify eating... and i am sure that that is the real reason why i want sweets all the time.
Miss anything?: Sushi!!everything else i have seemed to find an adequate substitute for but nothing can replace sushi!
Anything making you sick: Not much anymore.
Pregnancy symptoms: acne, and super sensitivity to the sun. I got the worst sun burn ever a couple weeks ago!
Movement: yep.
Gender prediction: It's a Girl!
We call our baby:  Adrienne Elizabeth Gochnauer is her name!
Looking forward to: Summertime trips and weddings in the next few months. We have a lot of upcoming events that are super exciting. In the immediate future, i am really excited to get rid of some junk at a garage sale this weekend.
Soon to be daddy is.... always amazed at the whole pregnancy process, as am i. Its totally different when its happening to you and seems like a much faster much more exciting process then when i see it with my patients/ friends. Brad was amazed with our second ultrasound yesterday, its crazy how much she has grown in just 5 short weeks.

Until Next Week,
Shyla
